Carry on luggage restrictions

Carry on Luggage size depends on the airline you are travelling with and whether you are flying domestic or international. The 3 main carriers are Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar. Below you will find each carrier and a breakdown of the sizes and how they measure:

QANTAS
All Classes
2 x 105cm (41in) bags or
1 x 105cm (41in) bag plus 1 x 185cm (73in) non rigid garment bag or
1 x 115cm (45in) bag 7kg (15lb) per piece All Dash aircrafts 1 x 105cm (41in) bag 4kg (9lb) total All International*
First/Business:
2 x 115cm (45in) bags or
1 x 115cm (45in) bag plus 1 x 185cm (73in) non rigid garment bag
Economy:
1 x 115cm (45in) bag or
1 x 185cm (73in) non rigid garment bag 7kg (15lb) per piece
Baggage Dimensions

Total dimensions are measured by adding together the length, height and depth of the bag.

VIRGIN BLUE
Carry-on Baggage Restrictions
All you need to know to ensure that baggage you wish to take on board meets Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue requirements.
Guests occupying a seat (Adult or Child), may take baggage weighing up to 7kgs per person on to the aircraft with them. Carry-on baggage is carried free of charge and the Guests allowance is restricted to the following:
1 piece not exceeding dimensions of 23 cm in depth, 34 cm in height and 48 cm in length. (total linear dimensions equal to 105cm) and
In addition Guests may carry 1 suit pack or garment bag, non rigid/unfolded not exceeding 11cm in depth x 60cm in width x 114cm in length (total linear dimensions equal to 185cm) or another small bag or briefcase.

JETSTAR
Cabin Baggage
The total weight of all your Cabin Baggage must not exceed 7 kg. This includes 1 piece of hand baggage up to 48 x 34 x 23 cm per person.
