Mother's Pride

Most mommies when asked what's the most memorable day in her life was and they would straight off say that it was the day her 1st kid is born. Such was the instance with me and my mama. I found it foolish being aware of the fact that almost every minute we would cry out for her to set up things for us, even as easy as obtaining an extra blanket for were too lazy to acquire it ourselves. Growing up watching my mother juggle numerous things simultaneously had me considering of never requiring to become a mom in the future. Who would want to be a mom after seeing your own mother acquire 2 terrible jobs at the same time and still makes time to take care of us kids all the while she losses sleep and rest?

But what is the true essence of being a mother?

What characteristics do we have to possess to be addressed as a mum? Apart from being the individualswho delivered us to this world, what makes them so unique to deserve them their personal great occassion in the calendar addressed as Mother's Day? These are the enquiries that I did not desire to be faced up with.

As Luck Would Have It, the great heavens above distorted my luck and twisted the tides and eventually had me traverse to the other side of maternal phobia. Beneath are the stuff I have come to realize while going through motherhood.

I determined that the phrase "Its Okay, Mommys here" works like magic; That there is only one pretty face and every mother has it; and that the cliche Mothers Know Best oftentimes mean I told you so or otherwise signify that you have get your mothers approval on everything even on your choice of women.

Most of all, being a mom means being the sole light in the household when there is dark, a source of happiness when there is sadness, where hope comes from when there is hopelessness, the ultimate source of love. Because being a mother involves a bundle of emotions that most of the time defy reason.

Being a mother means giving life to your kids, teach them things, let them know right from wrong, giving them freedom to live their lives but not living it for your children, not learning it for them, not deciding it for them but in the end be accountable for them.

Supporting your children in every path they take even though its the least path you would like them to take. A mother is always there to endure the pain in life. Because the truth is, once a mother, always a mother.

So what does it take to become a mother? It takes unbelievable and immeasurable courage. A mother can also be take the role of dad in the household, that's what makes mothers really special. And why are they so important to be remembered because they brought you into this world and even gave up theirs so you can be happy.

I know this for a fact because I have the very same wonderful person in my life with me right now, my mother. As the mother of my kids now, the most fantastic part of my life is to know that I am important to my kids, and I will love them unconditionally, forever.
