New Job Site Uses Video Interaction
Author: Jack
A new Website gives employers the chance to interview job candidates before they meet them.
Ask Me Hire Me, Inc, a Florida Corporation, launched its one-of-a-kind website, AskMeHireMe.com, on Jan. 15, 2008.
More than a jobsite, Ask Me Hire Me utilizes cutting edge technology that allows job applicants to appear on Interactive Video, answering specific questions for prospective employers. The job-seekers not only can post their resumes but can answer the questions submitted when recruiters and employers post their job openings. The question-and-answer session will appear on interactive video.
This is not your rambling video resume of the 1980's. This interactivity, invented by Ask Me Hire Me principal Jack Krause, presents the applicant in quick, easy to click responses to the questions employers most want answered. The viewer can pick and choose the responses from a menu beside each video.
“It seems to me to be a natural format for any type of question-and-answer scenario,” Krause said. “The old-fashioned video resume always seemed so boring to me. Applicants tend to run on and on and on.”
The video sample on AskMeHireMe.com is only a couple of minutes long, broken into five questions and responses that run for a few seconds each. That gives the viewer a succinct and immediate indication of the speaker’s personality as well as qualifications.
Employers posting jobs can choose to ask standardized questions from a wide ranged database:
- Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
- Describe your strengths and weaknesses?
Employers also can submit their own questions, for example they can ask questions in Spanish if they are seeking bilingual candidates.
“Our technology does two things for Job Seekers and Employers,” Krause said. “One, it saves everyone time by eliminating that first phone call interview. And two, it helps people stand out in the crowd of 1,000 resumes submitted for a single job opening.”
Applicants can make the interactive videos secure, so only the employer can see it, or public for anyone surfing the site.
Detailed instructions for employers and applicants are posted on the website.
